- I know that doing so would not create a conflict of interest with any of the clients I already represent, and
- satisfactory arrangements have been made with me for representation.
Accordingly, please do not expect me to take any action on your behalf unless we have agreed that I will be your lawyer and represent your interests, you have received a document from me explaining the terms and conditions of my representation (called a "fee agreement" or "engagement letter"), and we both sign that agreement to begin my representation.
